On Wellness Day, I leave you a selection of five gadgets that can help you improve your health in different aspects.
On June 11, Wellness Day is celebrated, known in English as “Wellness Day.” The term was coined in 1950 by an American doctor named Halbert L. Dunn and is to differentiate not being sick from feeling well. This means that your physical, mental, and emotional health is stable.
According to a study by Zippia, a job search platform, in the United States 72% of employees who were in wellness programs reduced their health expenses and 60% cleared themselves more productive.
And, for this, technology can also be an ally. Today I bring you a list of gadgets – which does not include smart watches or thermometers – so you can take a look and take care of yourself:
Foreo: for skin care
Clean skin is healthy skin and sometimes, between fatigue or rush, hands are not enough. To do this, Foreo, the Swedish beauty tech brand, has an automatic facial cleanser called “Luna” that not only cleans your face but can also help you combat the signs of aging.
In addition, they not only act as cleaners, but the soft bristles give a pleasant massage sensation, to which I have become addicted every morning and night, as they relax me a lot.
For hair: Philips Lumea
I confess: I was a person who suffered from hormonal problems and, therefore, facial hair. This made me feel very insecure and I spent thousands of pesos on laser treatments that did not work and only burned my skin.
When I tried the Philips Lumea -without much hope because I had read that the IPL laser was not that effective-, I changed completely because this was the only machine that did reduce facial hair by almost 80%, increasing my self-esteem.
In addition, a plus is that you can also use it all over your body and you will no longer waste or contaminate by raking or undergoing painful treatments to remove body and facial hair.
Waterpik: for oral health
When talking about health, oral health is often left aside. However, bleeding gums, sensitive teeth or any discomfort inside the mouth can be torture.
Waterpik is a dental irrigator that shoots a jet of pressurized water around the gums and into the space between the teeth. This helps remove plaque and any food particles left after brushing. It also helps clean around bridges, braces, and false crowns.
Nutribullet: to eat better
In the morning rush, I often don’t have time to prepare a complete and nutritious breakfast. For those occasions, this gadget has become my ally. I insert all the vegetables and fruits I want and blend them in that same container. I have my healthy breakfast quickly, practically, and – best of all – without dirtying my house.
“Walkstation”: to walk while you work
Working at home does not help you meet the recommended 10,000 steps a day. For this, there are small thin treadmills specifically designed to be placed under a table. So, while you work, you can walk. It depends on the model of the treadmills, but they can reach a speed of up to six kilometers per hour.
